Procurement key to boosting AI adoption?

To encourage the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) across public services, a House of Lords committee report has called for changes in procurement rules and the Technology code of practice.

The report suggests that procurement regulations should be altered to give UK based companies a more accessible platform to provide AI solutions to public sector organisations. It urges the Government to “be bold” in its approach to the procurement of AI, encouraging the development of possible solutions to public policy challenges through limited speculative investment. This should be accompanied by support for businesses that convert ideas to prototypes and help determine which ideas are viable. Read more here
